When it comes to clearing adult acne, there are sorts of treatments out on the market. You can’t walk two feet without stumbling over one ad or another promoting their products. It really is quite a shame, though. Why, you ask?
Because none of those treatments is an actual cure for acne. They’re just that; treatments. They’re designed to force you to keep using the product in order to maintain clear skin. Wouldn’t it just make more sense to cure acne once and be done with it?
Well that’s entirely possible! We’ve been conditioned by the acne industry that acne is a skin problem and that we have to use their products to get clear. The truth of the matter, however, is that the path to clearing adult lies in dealing with the real problems inside your body that are actually causing your breakouts.
Take, for instance, insulin. When there is too much insulin in our blood, it causes our skin cells to die off rapidly and clump together. Furthermore, it causes our oil glands to produce to much sebum. Both of these, of course, get clogged in pores. So where does this build up of insulin come from?
Well, I’m sure you’re familiar with becoming a bit lethargic and tired after a typical lunch. You’ll be sitting at work or in class and you’ll feel a wave of fatigue wash over you as you struggle to get any work done. Well, this is because our blood sugar levels have dropped pretty low; our body doesn’t have much energy to supply itself and it has become a bit tired. This is because when we eat, our body releases insulin to help supply itself with energy.
Except our food typically causes our blood sugar levels to rise to quickly, which in turn causes our insulin levels to rise accordingly. This flood of insulin drops our blood sugar levels, leading to the tired feeling we experience. Now this by itself isn’t really that bad.
However this cycle happens literally every day and has done so almost since our birth. So, over time, the swings become bigger and wilder. This begins to tax our bodies, allowing more insulin to be left over as well as tiring our immune systems. When our immune systems are wore out, this opens the door for the acne causing bacteria to start multiplying out of control on our skin.
The p. acnes bacteria is naturally occurring; it exists on everyone’s skin. The problem is our bodies can’t control it any longer. So now our skin has become the perfect place for acne; dead skin and oil are clogging our pores, bacteria feeds on that, which causes a reaction from our body which is why we get pimples.
However, as I pointed out, if none of those internal problems existed, then we wouldn’t have to worry about any of those; our acne would cease to be a problem before it even started. This is why any external treatments can never rid you of your acne problems. How could they? Your real acne problems are inside.
The best ways to reverse the damage include avoiding processed foods, to an extent. You can still eat pizza, but it’s all about moderation. Fortunately, there are more powerful methods. For instance, how water do you drink a day? I’ll bet it’s about 1 glass, maybe! Drinking at least 1.5 liters every day helps extensively in clearing away built up hormones and hydrates your skin.
Also, avoid dairy products as much as possible. Diary has insulin like growth factor (IGF-1) which lends to the already existing insulin problem. Finally, Vitamins A and Zinc have very proven track records for clearing adult acne.
Another very powerful method you can use to help get rid of adult acne is a fast. A fast is essentially eating only 1 food, typically apples, for several days or not eating solid food and drinking only natural juices for several days.
Both methods work by freeing up energy that would otherwise go to digestion which allows that energy to be directed to healing the problems within.
